Is that a banana in your pants?

These days there are many ways to be that little bit greener, although some of these ideas are a bit bananas!

Australian firm ‘Aussiebum’ have been monkeying around in their design department and come up with a new range of underwear made from bananas.

These eco-friendly pants are made from 27 percent banana fibre, 64 percent cotton and 9 percent lycra.

Banana fibre is said to be one of the most eco-friendly fibres in the world and has many good characteristics for use in clothing.

Makers insist the undies do not feel or smell like bananas... but to be on the safe side we still wouldn't wear them to the zoo.

A spokesperson for AussieBum said: "Banana fibre characteristically enjoys good luster, is lightweight, and offers strong moisture absorption."
