Insure your pet and help the eco charity of your choice!

Here at The Green Insurance Company we believe in making it as easy as possible for people to be green. We've continued to offset 100% of our customer's vehicles CO₂ emissions, breakdown vehicle emissions, and given a percentage of our profits to charity at the end of the year; and now we've even given Pet Insurance a green twist.

For every Pet Insurance Policy we sell, we pledge a donation to one of two environmental charities, and we let the policyholder decide where the money goes.

We're delighted to be in partnership with the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland, and the Marine Conservation Society. The donations that go to the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland will go to a particular project in Uganda called "The Budongo Conservation Field Station". This project ensures the health, safety and preservation of around 640 endangered chimpanzees. Currently chimpanzees are under threat of extinction due to habitat loss, and snares left by hunters causing them to be maimed or killed.

The money that we donate on behalf of our Pet Insurance customers will help with the conservation and study of the chimpanzees that live in the forest. The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland is also looking into the wider conservation issues within the Budongo Forest Reserve to encompass all of the other inhabitants who depend upon the forest for their survival.

Our Pet Insurance customers also have the option for us to donate to a cause that's a little closer to come. We've chosen to support the "Clean Seas and Beaches" campaign of the Marine Conservation Society. This project aims to combat the dumping of rubbish that effects marine life at every level in the UK — even whales and turtles. The project funds the conservation of beaches and coastal areas all over the UK, allowing marine life to flourish in a pristine habitat. The campaign also helps to educate the younger generation through the beach party volunteer program, helping to raise awareness of the problem and preserve the many wonderful species of animals found in the UK.
