This demo is taken from the live Advertising system that has been developed for MatchMkr
The demo shows live interactions between the user actions and database look-ups using a AJAX listener.
The information returned is based on the matching results found in the MatchMkr member database.
For the postcode search, the postcode itself is fired off, again via AJAX to Google, where it first checks that the postcode is recognised, and then does a MySQL query using a very complex bit of mathematics (COS and SIN, if anyone remembers that particular nightmare from high-school) to find the users who are based in the radius indicated with the miles drop-down.
